Regulation must be enforced —  Tijuana Councilman Ranier Falcón Martínez stated yesterday that the existing alcohol regulations in the City must be enforced, especially when Town Council has demonstrated it’s disposition to take action regarding this issue. At City Hall, fellow Councilmember Máximo García López  backed the modification of the alcohol regulation to prohibit the immoderate sale of alcoholic beverages,  but “nothing (to enforce the reform)  is being done about it,” Falcón declared.

Five nightclubs fined for insisting to pursue “all-you-can-drink” and “ladies night” promotions —  Tijuana City Hall executed an operative on Friday night to detect any establishments that would be promoting these kinds of specials. Five Tijuana nightclubs were fined late Friday by the Direction of Municipal Regulation during an operative  destined to detect promotions that offer the patron all the alcoholic beverages he/she can consume for a fixed price. According to the Director of this city office, Marcos Villalobos Hernández, the nightclubs fined were Cat’s, Las Pulgas, both owned by Tijuana businessman Alejandro Ruiz Arretche;  Animale, Aloha  that are also situated on  Avenida Revolución and the famous disco Baby Rock.

All-you-can-drink specials targetedBy Anna Cearley, UNION-TRIBUNE STAFF WRITER— TIJUANA – Starting this weekend, bars and clubs that offer "All You Can Drink" specials, many of them aimed at U.S. tourists, will have to find other ways to lure customers. Marcos Villalobos, Tijuana's Director of City Regulations, said the clubs could be fined from $15 to $2,500 if they continue to promote the specials. Those who persist could be forced to close. . . All you can drink specials  under attack – According to declarations made by the Director of Municipal Regulation, Marcos Villalobos Hernandez, this weekend they will start implementing an operative that will target Tijuana bars and nightclubs that promote “all-you-can-drink” and “ladies night” specials.
