drinking & driving prevention at Mission Beach, where DUI
crashes & fatalities are a major problem. Demonstration of "self-serve safety
sticks," or tongue depressors, that beach-goers can voluntarily use to test
themselves for intoxication before getting behind the wheel. The safety sticks change
color if a persons blood alcohol level is too high to drive. Public health &
safety advocates gave out safety sticks, prevention fliers and "crashes
arent accidents" key rings to drivers as reminders not to turn on the ignition
if youve had too much to drink. |
